Travis Clayton

The rules state 16, but the Bills have an international player that's exempt.

That is Travis Clayton, so he's back for another year.

And while we're at it, I was told today to make sure I said these names right.

And I am, I am a, I am a stickler.

And it went from 90 to 58.

And it was like, whoa, what happened? Now it's counting Travis Clayton, it's 70 players.

So you went from 91 to 70.

Yeah.

Alec Anderson was the much higher ceiling player.

Austin Corbett, tended to get beat by a little bit of speed the interior of the defensive lineman is kind of all the rage around the nfl guys are uh in our teams are investing in these high pass rush ability guys on the interior uh every single season they're just getting more and more voluminous so having a guy that's a little bit more athletic with a little bit of a higher ceiling even though he doesn't have the experience that was to me, the smartest play of all of them.

But the real conversation was about the reserve offensive lineman.

And there were a few, I called them pivot points.

The first of which was what they were going to do with backup center.

Just got to find a home for him and see if he can develop.

But, you know, somewhat surprising he wasn't claimed because offensive tackles usually get claimed on the, at least ones who are drafted, usually get claimed on waivers.

But the Bills lucked out in the sense that they didn't get their offensive lineman poached on waivers.

So that way we can kind of talk through.

But The ones that were expected, Nick Broker, Shane Buchel, we got Travis Clayton back on the International Pathways program, Takori Couch, Frank Gore Jr., Stephen Gosnell, Keonta Jenkins was one that I was maybe a little nervous about, Andre Jones Jr., a really nice one.

I'll talk about Anthony Kendall in a little bit.

Chase Lent was expected.

Inside linebacker, Jimmy Ciarlo.

Defensive lineman, Travis Clayton.

Defensive back, Takori Couch.

Running back, Frank Gore Jr.

It's, it's going to be, it seems like it's going to be very interesting to me to how they make up and how this offense, it feels like this offense is going to be hyper multifaceted versus previous years.

Of those players we mentioned, cut onto the practice squad.

Go Shane Buchel, Travis Clayton, DeCorey Couch, wide receiver Greg Dortch, running back Frank Gore Jr., wide receiver Steven Gosnell, outside linebacker Andre Jones Jr., inside linebacker Keontae Jenkins, offensive lineman Chase Lunt, wide receivers Jamori Macklin and Trent Shurfield.

Safety Geno Stone, inside linebacker Shaq Thompson, and Keone Walker.

Just talked about Jones, Gosnell, Buchel, Buchel.

Stone, Chase Lunt, Travis Clayton as the exemption, and Trent Shurfield.

So, you know, the Bills didn't lose.

I mean, they would have probably liked to see Pride Junior's name on here.

So we will do that now as the Bills announce their 17-player practice squad late Monday.

It's 17 players because they still have the international exemption in the form of Travis Clayton, who is now a defensive lineman.

Among the notables on the practice squad, running back Frank Gore Jr., linebacker Keontae Jenkins, outside linebacker Andre Jones, cornerback Kanai Walker, and wide receivers Jamori Macklin and Trent Shurfield.

Bills also signed veteran free agent linebacker Shaq Thompson to their practice squad, who appeared in 12 games for the Bills last season and had an interception in the wildcard playoff win at Jacksonville last year.
