Side effects that we already know about, the pericarditis, the myocarditis, the blood clots, the low platelets, the peripheral nervous system problems, the brain problems.

And now we know that there's a very likely to be a spinal cord problem as well, at least a strong association.

So more transverse myelitis after COVID vaccine in South Korea.

Why does this matter? Two main reasons.

Well, three, well, many reasons.

Um, they did eventually treat my pain.

Um, there was a hush about maybe it's transverse myelitis, but nobody would ever come out and actually say that while I was admitted.

They released me.

I went back and looked after a conversation of back pain and urinary incontinence, not yet diagnosed.

I still had no sensation to my bladder, but I could manage it with three-hour timed going to the washroom.

Um, I could barely walk a lot of days.

I was so fatigued, I could barely get out of bed, but eventually, I saw my neurologist, and bless this man, as soon as he assessed me, as soon as he went over my history, he's like, "But this is transverse myelitis." I was like, "I know that." He's like, "But why didn't they know that at the hospital? There's other treatments we could have given you in the hospital for TM." Because nobody wanted to associate it with my vaccine.

Which would be the explanation for it in the first place.

And she and Chuck became very close through the process of her rehab and her being fitted for a wheelchair there.

And Chuck learned about our work starting the Transverse Myelitis Association.

He approached us and he said, you know, you guys need a medical advisory board.

And at the time, we didn't know from medical advisory boards, but we were really taken with his generosity and Chuck started our association's medical advisory board.

He put together an education program with this organization, which advocated for people who had a very rare genetic disorder called fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.

that organization along with NORD was coming into Columbus for this education program.

And Chuck said, why don't you invite all the members of the transverse myelitis association, which we did.

And there were fewer than a hundred members at that time.
