Now, Minister of State with responsibility for road safety, Sean Canney, met today with senior officials from the Departments of Transport and Justice, as well as Gardaí, the Road Safety Authority and Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

They met to discuss motorway road safety following a number of recent incidents on the country's motorway network.

Well, at the moment, you have, for instance, on the M50, you have a huge amount of cameras on the M50.

You have a huge amount of cameras that potentially could be used and signage that could be used to alert people to different things being on the motorway.
