Transformers

Howdy.

And we are talking about Skybound Transformers number 37, and, uh-

With Elita Prime on the cover

... looking a little like she's, like, wiping the, the drool from her mouth with the, uh, Star- the ghost of the Star Saber.

Larping.

You're just over here LARPing.

You never even read Transformers before, have you?

Yeah, I don't know anything about Transformers.

Ignite the night.

Transformers roar in G.I. Joe's fight.

Fight royals clash in a flash of light.

you're listening to another comic review my name is jesse and joining me on the mic tfg1 mike from the gcrn.com

Like, it's so cool.

Like, these guys try everything on this robot, and this robot is amazing.

T-Bob in the Mask comic is better than half of the Autobots in Transformers in the Transformers comic.

Ha ha ha ha ha

We are unpacking a massive, really data-rich breakdown from Gizmodo that kind of pulls back the curtain on how Skybound Comics and Hasbro managed to pull off the seemingly impossible.

Merging Transformers and G.I. Joe.

Right.

They brought them into a single shared comic book continuity.

So let's just start with the gamble itself.

Let's rewind the clock to 2023.

Skybound Comics announces they are bringing Transformers and G.I. Joe into a single continuity, and the numbers, three years later, are just staggering.

They really are.

Kirkman and friends will be telling us about what's to come from all of the, from, from the glorious, uh, Skybound world for the next year.

So we'll get updates, I'm sure, on Invincible, and Transformers, and Universal Monsters, and G.I. Joe, et cetera, et cetera.

And, uh-

Can't, can't wait for that next, uh, Micro Machine blind bag and whatever-

I gotta let it out sometimes Alright what do we got from Image for the week of the 14th

From Image and Skybound, we have Transformers, issue 37.

Radiant Black, issue 44.

[upbeat music] Welcome to Transmissions Alt Mode, where we look at the latest comics and other media featuring the Transformers.

In this episode, we dodge laser rays and return to the newest corner of the Energon Universe as we review Skybound's Masked number four.

Today is Friday, October 2nd, 2026, and this is episode 514 of Transmissions Alt Mode.

So you've al- you'll already have access this Monday for the next episode in the series.

You can get the, get all the, uh, new developments a week early.

Uh, also this week, we had a special Transformers the Movie 40th anniversary retrospective, and I had on some special guests.

We had Rod from The Black Guy Who Tips podcast and D Palm from the Unan- Unanimous Decision podcast.

So they are both big Transformers fans, and I sat down with them just to reminisce on our memories of Transformers the Movie from the '80s and also the latest screening we all went to see.

And believe me, I, I, I, real early on, like I said, I just went along for the ride.

But there was that sort of fork in the road with Transformers, 'cause he had, he had a lot of choices.

You know, he, he-

Including Absolute Batman.

Okay, and also, uh, his own creator-owned.

Also massive, massive big two, besides Absolute Batman, which, you know, not gonna divulge.

Or Transformers, which is this, you know, red-headed stepchild of a, of a property.

And, um, you know, in the art world, no-- I mean, outside of obviously the, the, the, the big Bill Sienkiewicz cover, nobody respects Transformers art.
