In fact, Don is co-chair of the Learning Technologies conference in London, founder and lead researcher of the L&D Research Series, and the man behind the annual L&D Global Sentiment Survey.

Don has spent nearly 40 years, I guess he started when he was about five, uh, working across learning and development from design and delivery through to technology, research, and strategic leadership.

And in November, listeners, he'll be joining us as a keynote speaker at this year's Learning Networks Connect conference.

His session, called Beyond the AI Shock: Possible Futures for L&D, asks a particularly important question.

Francine Dorville has been appointed Learning and Development Officer in the Learning and Development Directorate within the Office of the Deputy Governor.

She's completing a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Management through the University of the West Indies, and holds a Bachelor of Education in Primary Education and an Associate's Degree in Primary Education.

Dorville moves into the position following several years in the classroom.

I'm the producer of the NovoWed Talks podcast, and today I'm joined by James Leavis, who is a manager of training and development at Kubota Canada.

James began his career in brief therapy where he spent years studying what actually makes people tick, adapt, and change.

Over two decades ago, he brought that human-centric lens into corporate education and never looked back.

She also leads CYCJ's work on children in police custody, working with partners across Scotland to reduce and prevent the use of police custody for children.

And finally, I'm joined by Joanne Lee, who is Practice Development Advisor and takes a lead on learning and development.

Joanne's role focuses on developing CYCJ's strategy for learning and development of our key stakeholders, including supporting practitioners with key legislative and policy developments in youth justice practice, whilst contributing to the wider work of the centre's core training objectives.

Joanne has completed the postgraduate certificate, which we will be discussing throughout the course of this episode.

But also more recently thinking about really taking into account children and young people's voices within that as well, and making sure that we're able to share that with the workforce in a really succinct kind of manner.

So they're busy practitioners, so we try and provide that effort, that support for them.

I think the other thing I would say is that we've tried recently to develop our learning and development into lots of different formats to suit people's different learning styles as well.
