Train Dreams

But there's a lot of, there's a lot of wonderful people.

Um, a film that I particularly loved, which was, I can't remember now if it was last year or early this year, was Train Dreams.

Oh, yes.

Um, and, um-

I would not compare it to Brokeback.

I would compare it more to something like Train Dreams.

Yeah.

Yeah, exactly what I got from it.

on that.

That's a shame, because I think the both of them gave really subtle...

Also, if you nominate one of them, they don't nominate our man for Train Dreams.

Like, holy fuck, what's going on? You don't nominate the editor for Train Dreams, and you nominate that? Come on.

But yeah, Ben Mendelsohn, phenomenal actor.

All I ask Hollywood to do is stop casting, stop ca- Do not cast him, excuse me, as a villain, because the man is too versatile to play villains constantly, because I've seen him do many things, and I, I, I would love to see him get maybe a Joel Edgerton "Train Dreams" type of experience, because those are-- Like, those two actors, I'm telling you, Adam, I, I will, I will be on the front lines.

If anybody was to come after them, like, you'll never see me pop up the w- that quickly as I'll pull up and be like, "No, no, no." 'Cause those are my...

Those are actors to me that are...

I, I definitely think so, and, and, you know, that is the trouble of sort of getting pigeonholed into a certain kind of persona as an actor.

Um, but you really hope that they, they continue to experiment with the types of work that they do.

Like for, especially for Joel Edgerton, you know, something like "Train Dreams" is, is such a special project for him to, to take on, and it got such a great reception, which is awesome to see.

And, and you do hope that someone like Ben Mendelsohn is, is, takes on a project, um, you know, that's l- that's more in the, maybe more, uh, in the mainstream, but also gives him an opportunity to, to, to play kind of like more of that sort of charismatic hero role maybe as opposed to a villain, because I, you know, you can just see he can, he can, he can do anything, honestly.

... slow films.

One of the first films we reviewed was Train Dreams.

And so when things happen, you've lost the suspense, and then you have to kind of build back up again.

It's funny how you compare it to Train Dreams.

Like, you just need a bunch of trees and people in them.

They could basically just go to wherever they filmed Train Dreams and, and spin up Overstory.

Um-

I think a bunch of trees is a hard meeting in West Hollywood or wherever you're taking these meetings.

Have a little bit-

So there's a movie called Train Dreams.

It just came out a year ago.

It got a lot of Oscar buzz.
