Oh, Taron Blankensmith, the guy who is half of the guys who created the MediaPipe plugin for TouchDesigner and is like a TouchDesigner legend.

We chatted for 90 minutes instead of five minutes as I told him we would chat.

your foot, like just a, like a follow along hour long tutorial, make something cool.

I like doing them every so often.

Well, then you make TouchDesigner and get 10 billion like, so.

That's the thing.

I'm like, I wanna, I wanna, I don't wanna make them, and then when I do make one, I want it to guarantee it to blow up kind of thing.

Oh, what are you guys working on? Oh, yeah, I'm actually just sending some emails to TouchDesigner, the people at TouchDesigner.

And to be honest, I always sort of thought that, like, um, even if you have, like, a Caffeine script running Forever, uh, when your laptop is closed, it shouldn't...

Like, the closed lid should override a lot of stuff, but I also know there's a lot of programs, like TouchDesigner, if you leave TouchDesigner running, even with caffeine off and your laptop closed, you will open your computer to a dead laptop.

I've been trying to learn Blender.

I've been trying to learn TouchDesigner.

I've been trying to learn another one that's very similar to TouchDesigner.

A lot of my job used to be using, like, After Effects, editing video and all that.

So I'm, I'm pretty familiar with the visual side of things, but with things like TouchDesigner or Blender or so many other options now are so good and so powerful that things where I used to have to either hire someone or have a friend do something or really try and figure out a way around it, now with things like Blender and TouchDesigner, it's just so possible to do your own visual stuff really well.

Sure, yeah.

It's free, you know? Blender is just free.

And so, for instance, in Los Angeles, Dataland just came up and they have omnisensory experiences where various scents can be rendered electronically and, you know, everything is dynamic in real time.

And so it takes the interactivity of the gameplay and something like Houdini or Touch Designer and brings it all around you into somewhat of a museum setting.

How do you see that playing out in interactive content as the technology develops?

This is also a great question because in the beginning, I thought that this would be something that maybe everyone would have at home.
