Touch Me in the Morning

The first will be Diana Ross from 1973, a number one in the United States of America, nine weeks on the charts.

And it's Touch Me in the Morning.

Interesting thing about this, Michael Masser, who co-wrote the song, said that Diana Ross had a draining experience, as he put it, recording this song, which really was explained actually by Diana Ross's daughter, who says that Diana Ross would put her to bed and then spend all night out recording the song.

My goodness gracious, what a trooper.

It's gonna hurt for a little while, but I can understand.

But before you walk out that door, touch me in the morning.

Then just walk away.

We don't have to mourn what we had yesterday.

Well, I can say goodbye in the cold morning light.

But I can't watch love die in the warmth of the night.

If I got to be strong, don't you know I need your love tonight? When you're gone, till you're gone, I need to just lie here and think about the very last time you'll ever, oh, touch me in the morning.

Then just close the door.
