Toshiaki Kawada

He's in there with Kawada.

Toshiaki Kawada at Corican Hall.

And this is actually a unique piece of history because this is Kawada's return match.

The year prior, Kawada had signed with...

2010.

Jinichiro Tenryu defeats Toshiaki Kawada to win the vacant All Japan Pro Wrestling Triple Crown Championship at Budokan Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Same day, 2000.

Bret the Hitman Hart officially announces he's retiring from wrestling.

Yeah.

And it's Sasuke, Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Keiji Muto, Toshiaki Kawada, Ric Flair, with Sasuke being the highest honorable mention of them all.

So great company to be in there.

Most likely has first place votes that we don't see.

So, so yeah, man, shout out to Kawada today.

Dangerous K. Toshiaki Kawada.

Kawada Toshiaki this.

And he now, uh, Well, he retired some years ago, and he opened up a ramen shop.

So we saw the like reconnection of dangerous techers before the match started though.

Um, Toshiaki Kawada comes out and, you know, he's sort of like the senpai master to, uh, to Taiji.

And he basically said like, you changed your name years ago from Taiji Ishikawa because you were so bad at wrestling that you didn't want to continue to like besmirch the name of Ishikawa.

Um, Or Ishikari.

And you'll be delighted to hear that your favourite, get a fucking kibashi.

Get a kibashi, man! He won the triple crown for a second time by twatting Toshiaki Kawada.

There

you go.

And then after injuries.

sort of settled in as a good wrestler but we're still in or near the uh the great level uh for Yoshiaki Atsu so very excited I always like seeing him in tag team matches in particular um one of the guys that 10 or even more but one of the guys that I feel like like this era like what he did was sort of the bridge between like 70s and early to mid to late 80s all japan and what we would know the big all japan style to be as we got into the 90s but it is the revolution stable tag team of kenichiro tenryu and ashura hara the revolution group at that point it lasts from 87 to 1990 And members of the group included Tenryu, obviously, Ashura Hara, a young Toshiaki Kawada and Samson Fuyuki, Footloose, Tatsumi Kitahara, who I believe his only Western claim to fame was he was in that War vs.

New Japan, I believe it was War vs.

New Japan, six-man tag on the WCW New Japan Super Show thing.
