held I think in 1923 about the building of the stadium and the city of Toronto, the people of Toronto rejected the notion.

So Solomon decided to go through the Toronto Harbor Commission, which owned all kinds of lands on the waterfront.

He originally wanted to build a stadium almost directly west on the other side of, I believe it's York Street or Simcoe Street, directly west of Union Station.

That got rejected, so they offered him a piece of property further to the west.
