So what are some other things that, that would stand out to you in potential traits to m- to look at someone as a really skilled player?
21:33
So it's a great question, and I go back to, I sat in the shoes of being a scout and a recruiter at the college level for quite some time.
21:42
And so every year as a recruiter and as a scout, when you're evaluating talent, you learn a little bit more, and you feel a little bit more comfortable with what works.
21:50
You see kids that you've recruited, the ones that have come on and done good things, the ones that maybe didn't reach the potential [laughs] that you thought they were, and so you're able to get a little bit of a bigger picture view of things.
22:00
And so obviously, you want hockey sense, you want skill, and things like that.
22:03
But as far as some of the intangible things that you're talking about, number one is I would never recruit another kid at the college level that didn't have an elite compete level.
22:11
Like, an elite compete level.

Especially at an early age.

You know what I mean? And it's just so odd that like you have to do this one thing, but then like it all goes out the window.
89:51
Yeah.
89:52
And there's a lot of different reasons for that.
89:54
You know, I think there's... you know, a lot of people who think they know better.
89:58
There's a lot of people who it doesn't fit their narrative of what's best for their kid.
90:01
There's people who have business interests and stuff like that.
90:04
And that's an unfortunate part of it.

Does that make sense?
19:53
Mm-hmm.
19:53
That's probably the best way to put it.
19:55
Um, and, and so I think a lot of what people kind of ask for from USA Hockey down here in the States and from Hockey Canada is regulation.
20:04
You know, we wanna put in rules in place to be able to do that, but the unfortunate reality when that happens is that there's a huge rise in unsanctioned and rogue hockey in, in Canada.
20:15
And we don't wanna follow these different guidelines.
20:17
We want to do things our way, so we're just gonna move away from Hockey Canada and those guidelines, and we're gonna do things how we want to do them.
20:24
So the regulation side of it is, is pretty difficult to, to actually enact.
21:53
I mean, are they just playing too much of whatever sport they're playing, generally speaking now?
12:50
Mm-hmm.
12:50
That's probably the best way to put it.
12:52
Um, and, and so I think a lot of what people kind of ask for from USA Hockey down here in the States and from Hockey Canada is regulation.

You know, we wanna put in rules in place to be able to do that.

But the unfortunate reality when that happens is that there's a huge rise in unsanctioned and rogue hockey in, in Canada.

And we don't wanna follow these different guidelines, we wanna do things our way, so we're just gonna move away from Hockey Canada and those guidelines, and we're gonna do things how we want to do them.
13:21
So the regulation side of it is, is pretty difficult to, to actually enact.
14:43
Um, the issue of games and practices, do kids have way too many practices and have way too many games, that includes tournaments as well? I mean, are they just playing too much of whatever sport they're playing, generally speaking now?
16:30
Let's go.
16:31
Yeah, man.
16:32
We're so excited to partner with you guys on this.
16:35
And we've been doing it for about a year now.
16:38
And it's been a lot of fun.
16:39
And so we created this community.
16:41
Basically, Vex, I think you say it best.
