They managed to work with the local authority to get funding and, um, I spent 18 months broadcasting news and current affairs, recording local pr- you know, celebrities.

And one of the things w- we did, uh, was go out and, and do a, a series on the local field studies center with the very excellent Tony Harman.

This was down in Canterbury.

And that got me out with the kind of the s- the studio's kind of tape recorders, and we were recording, you know, birds and pond life and all this sort of thing, and that really kind of set me on a particular track.
