ChrisHOST
40:25
Yeah, I want to talk first about a game that I have been playing that I figured at some point this year I would be playing just because of the way that my daughter was talking and it finally happened.
ChrisHOST
40:43
I have been playing not a ton, but when my daughter will allow me, I've been playing some Tomodachi Life.
CoreyHOST
40:50
Tomodachi Life? Are you living the dream, Chris?
ChrisHOST
40:54
I am living the dream, Corey.
ChrisHOST
40:59
So my daughter has been wanting it forever.
CoreyHOST
41:19
Yeah, I did too.
ChrisHOST
41:20
I mean, she pulled one straight out of the Chris playbook, so I can't fault her for that.
ChrisHOST
41:27
But Tomodachi Life, if you remember, is the follow-up, not a sequel, but the next edition of Tomodachi Life, which originally came out on the 3DS.
Jesse DeRosaHOST
54:47
And so like, you know, she didn't want to play.
Jesse DeRosaHOST
54:49
The only thing she wanted to do is play Tomodachi Life all fucking summer long on her older Switch 1.
Jesse DeRosaHOST
54:55
So she did that all summer long.
Jesse DeRosaHOST
54:56
I was like, do you want to try the Switch 2? She's like, no, I don't care.
Jesse DeRosaHOST
54:58
I was like, do you want to try any games on my Xbox? She's like, no, I don't care.
Jesse DeRosaHOST
55:01
She just played Tomodachi Life off like literally.
Jesse DeRosaHOST
55:04
She put like hundreds of hours into it over the summer.
Jesse DeRosaHOST
55:07
Like that kid stayed up till 3 a.m. all day playing that game.
Andrew MusilGUEST
37:36
But yeah,
David HoweHOST
37:37
I think prop playing, you're definitely covering more ground, but I do think there's something to being on the ground and up close and personal with a lot of the storefronts and the stuff in the city when you're on the skateboard, right? They really did put a lot of effort into making this a fleshed-out city, so much so to where it does kind of feel like maybe this is laying the groundwork for WooHoo showing up in more games, right? It'd be cool if Tomodachi Life, for instance, was set online.
David HoweHOST
38:03
on woohoo island right like how incredible would that be just to be able to kind of like have more than just your little patch of land you know make a whole sim style game with your me's or something like that or sim city style right like i could just see a lot of cool things coming out of this
Jordan WillisHOST
38:18
i i'm glad you mentioned that because i was like flying around and i was like why did they do this? For Mario Kart World, it makes sense because they built this whole world that's interconnected and then all the races are based off of that world.

15 MINS LATER

MarthGUEST
53:13
You can do everything you could in that game and more.
MarthGUEST
53:15
I think something that really is nice is that when you're playing against just generic CPUs, sometimes the Miis that you have in your console will show up, which is always, always a good time when you're suddenly boxing against your grandpa.
David HoweHOST
53:31
I wish that you could fucking export me's from Tomodachi life, man.
David HoweHOST
53:36
Because like, I only have three me's on my console and one of them is my ex and they keep popping up all the time and thumb wrestling.
Analytic DreamzHOST
67:25
Anyways, Splatoon Raiders comes in number seven with 5,400 weekly and 676,000 as far as total.
Analytic DreamzHOST
67:33
We have Tomodachi Life coming in at number eight with a weekly count of 5,300 copies and a total count of 1.6 million.
Analytic DreamzHOST
67:42
Goodness gracious, boy, that's insane.
Analytic DreamzHOST
67:46
And then you have Mario Kart World coming at number nine on the Nintendo platform with 4,600 as far as the weekly count and a total of 3 million copies.
Analytic DreamzHOST
69:36
But as far as the top 10 most played games on the Nintendo platform, you have Sully Land, Nursery Rhyme coming in at number 10.
Analytic DreamzHOST
69:44
You have Mario Kart World coming in at number 9.
Analytic DreamzHOST
69:47
Tomodachi Life coming in at number 8.
Analytic DreamzHOST
69:49
Splatoon Raiders coming in at number 7.
LocklethGUEST
36:26

LocklethGUEST
36:27

LocklethGUEST
36:29
Oh,
SethHOST
36:29
hell yeah.

27 MINS LATER

SethHOST
63:42
Yeah.
LocklethGUEST
63:45
Cut a tree down, leave a stump, do something.
Sean CapriHOST
63:50
No, I'll play Tomodachi Life now.
Sean CapriHOST
63:52
You got me on Tomodachi Life.
N64 JoshHOST
18:35
What do you got? What do you got for number nine?
Seth MacyGUEST
18:37
Number nine, Tomodachi Life, Living the Dream.
Seth MacyGUEST
18:42
And this is more so, I like it, but my son, my old youngest son, who's 18, loves it.
Seth MacyGUEST
18:51
And so he, I would come down and he would just be playing.
Seth MacyGUEST
18:55
He's made, you know, he's also really big into Warhammer.
Seth MacyGUEST
18:57
So he'd have, you know, like the emperor of the universe hanging out with like Kanye West.
Seth MacyGUEST
19:04
But yeah, Tomodachi Life games, that was actually the first, first job i did for ign was i did the guide for the 3ds game wow okay wait what was that like 2013 20 yeah 2014 but uh so i have a lot of uh fondness for the original the second one didn't or excuse me the newer one for switch dude or switch and switch to didn't grabbed me nearly as much as the original one did i think it's sort of uh the same with like the pokemon on switch having those games handheld where you can just have them sitting next to your bed There's a lot to be said for that.
Seth MacyGUEST
19:42
So, yeah.
Stephen HilgerHOST
17:14
...
Stephen HilgerHOST
17:14
Tomodachi Life, I think has sold better [laughs] than, like, most PlayStation games.
Stephen HilgerHOST
17:19
Um-
Brendon BigleyHOST
17:19
Tomodachi Life was, I just checked, like, two weeks ago, still the top selling game in Japan.
Stephen HilgerHOST
17:24
And, and that will get nothing.
Stephen HilgerHOST
17:26
Like, it, it, it will-
Brendon BigleyHOST
17:32
Yeah.
Brendon BigleyHOST
17:32
They, they...
Asif KhanHOST
45:11
Nintendo was very clear with us.
Asif KhanHOST
45:14
Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life were the last two first party games on the Switch One.
Donovan ErskineHOST
45:22
Yeah.
Asif KhanHOST
45:23
They said that early on, "We are moving all of our development effort towards Switch 2," which makes sense.
Asif KhanHOST
48:36
but we will...
Asif KhanHOST
48:37
We'll get, we'll do a preview episode, uh, when we get closer to that.
Asif KhanHOST
48:41
But we will know Rhythm Heaven Groove sales, uh, we'll get another update on Tomodachi Life sales, and we will finally find out, did Star Fox cross a million units sold?
Donovan ErskineHOST
48:52
Mm-hmm.
Asif KhanHOST
45:11
Nintendo was very clear with us.
Asif KhanHOST
45:14

Donovan ErskineHOST
48:52
Mm-hmm.
Andy CortezHOST
61:47
I really just want the Wi- I want the Miis to be given priority again.
Andy CortezHOST
61:53
Like look at how, look at how popular and viral Tomodachi Life was.
Andy CortezHOST
62:00
With all the creation there, with all the fun people were having making Walter White and making...
Andy CortezHOST
62:05
And having that deep level of customization.
