Tommy Victor was on this podcast a long time ago.

And I just recorded an episode and he will be back here within a week or two.

So very looking forward to that because Prong has another excellent album coming out November 6th.

Prong.

I remember a big push behind Prong and the whole Puss Head artwork thing and Tommy Victor stuff.

So that was always exciting.

Hey, it's probably going to make it and be a big band, but I don't think they ever got a certification either.

If you can, share the show with somebody you know, subscribe to the pod, and leave us a review.

Tonight, Metal Walt catches up with Prong's Tommy Victor.

There's a new self-titled album on the way, and Walt gets into what's driving Tommy as he takes Prong into the next chapter.

They dig into The Banner, a song with something to say about Prong's place in heavy music, and whether the band gets the recognition Tommy feels it deserves.

How do you actually keep a band like Prong financially afloat? Tommy gets candid about the business and whether calling this album a victory lap.

All right, let's get into it.

Metal Walt, Tommy Victor, talking Prong, the new self-titled album, and life on the road.

I'm The Vernomatic, and we are Metal Mayhem ROC.

But this was before I was really even listening to it.

So when I started playing with Tommy and Eric and, and, um, and Tim, and we started getting into the heavier s- things, I brought over those suitcases and we just like popping in Venom and shit.

It's Celtic Frost and all that stuff-

Yeah

Fucking double bass is thunderous.

Yeah.

He's got some Tommy Victor shit going on in there.

Pentatonics and pinch.

Hello everyone and welcome to Different Stages Radio, DSR 182, and a big show as always.

I'm JJ, I will get to the three song set that I played for you to open up the show, but I want you to make sure that you stick around because later on in the show, I will be playing you an interview preview snippet that I did last week with Tommy Victor.

You know Tommy Victor from Prong, his time in Danzig, Ministry.

There's a brand new Prong album coming out next month, self-titled Prong, their 14th album.

Had a killer chat with Tommy.

Go visit B Street.

Reminding you, next month, Black Friday Record Store Day, they will be loaded and stocked.

Tommy Victor, as mentioned at the top of the show, Tommy Victor, main man from Prong, started Prong 40 years ago this year.

Prong.

I remember a big push behind Prong and the whole Puss Head artwork thing and Tommy Victor stuff.

So that was always exciting.

Hey, it's probably going to make it and be a big band, but I don't think they ever got a certification either.

This is a dark and dense album all about aggression and groove, if you like that kind of thing

Tommy Victor from Prong and Danzig, Ministry, and Tapeworm, he said that nobody had ever done this before, and you know what? He was fucking right.

The list of bands that, that cover songs on this album is longer than my arm.

I really enjoy this, and I agree with Tommy.
