She did a lot of Chicago stuff.

And then when we moved to New York, part of the touring company of the musical Nine with the actual super famous Tommy Tune.

Wow.

And so that was kind of the, the launch in a way where she was like, "Broadway could be the next step." And we moved to New York, uh, hoping that that's what could be next, 'cause she had that on her accolade, you know, resume.

It's a crowd.

No, no, you, you, you buy a ticket and you go to a Broadway show 'cause you like Tommy Tune.

I almost said Ashley pulls Darby to the side, but Ashley pulls Luann, and she goes, "Guess who texted me yesterday?" And she's like, "Who?" She's like, "Ralph." "Oh, I thought you were gonna say Tommy Tune.

Yeah, like this is a musical that should have been a Tommy Tune vehicle like 35 years ago.

I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah.

I mean, f- you know, from the, from the '80s, um, I, I've got a chance to, to, to work with, I mean, I had a, a audition for Bob Fosse.

I've worked with Tommy Tune.

Um, I, uh, I, I mentioned Hal Prince.

Um, uh, Mike Nichols, uh, directed my One and Only.

But-

See, Tommy Tune wouldn't blend in.

Yeah.

He's too tall.

He's wearing that top hat.

[laughs] Tommy Tune.

[laughs] He's a great song and dance man.

[laughs] Anyway, so h- you, how long you been with the girlfriend?

I, and that was the other thing, it was like the people that I got to see when I was doing Grease, the, all my seminarians, a lot of them were Catholic priests now, were all bringing their parishioners and bus loads of people coming to see the show.

And I, I remember thinking, "I really am living a dream, so just savor every moment of this because you are living a dream." And I also, when I got cast in the part, um, do you know who Tommy Tune is?

Of course, yes.

Tommy Tune cast me in the role, and I, he was the director, and Barry Weissler was the producer.

And before I even mentioned it to the Bells, 'cause I had to see if they would let me do it, I said, "By any chance would you be interested in, um, coming on The Bold and the Beautiful playing yourself? And you could cast my character Thorne, who is a singer on the show, you could cast him in the Broadway show.

I think it would be great cross-promotion." And Tommy was like, "I think that's a wonderful idea."

And, and I called Bradley Bell and I said, "Bradley, I'm gonna ask you a question, and I just pray you say yes, 'cause this is a dream of mine and has been a dream of mine my entire life.
