We will come to learn that this is a song that Tommy Gnosis stole from Hedwig.

And then we discover that Hedwig and her band are on tour, and they are, like, following/stalking [laughs] the tour that Tommy Gnosis is doing.

And it seems like, and this will be later confirmed, that Tommy was a former protege of Hedwig, but something happened between them and they had a falling out.
