So even there was very little test for the back line and we could kind of walk the ball up into the opposition's third and then just try and pick them apart from there.
JamesGUEST
7:39
Whereas once we started going on the road in the championship and there was a lot more athleticism and we had Peck Swinghoe, Tommy Doyle, Iwata as the midfielders and they just weren't really used to kind of that duelling nature and having to cover so much ground, get up and down, up and down.
JamesGUEST
7:56
So I think that really did kind of test our squad.
JamesGUEST
8:01
And we didn't have a massive...
Jack WilliamsHOST
17:27
Well, yeah, I mean, Bertrand might as well still be in Dubai training because the way it's been going, because we've said absolutely nothing of him, have we really? But Boubacar was sort of, you know, looked promising in the bits we had seen in this season and looked like a bit of an option.
Jack WilliamsHOST
17:39
So it's definitely good to have something else there in that department, particularly with the inconsistency of the likes of, you know, Tommy Doyle and these sorts of people.
Jack WilliamsHOST
17:48
So, yeah, anything we can get there, but yeah, The wingers also have just been so inconsistent, haven't they, all season, really? I mean, Mane was dropped at the weekend, but came on and did all right, in my opinion.
Jack WilliamsHOST
17:59
Like, actually looks like dropping him maybe did him a bit of good.

And I know that we've got, what four points from those three home games but just the way we just showed so little fight against bolton after they got their noses in front and we just kind of gave up letting ports were back into a game but they shouldn't really have been in because we should be seeing it out from there and then watford just only really on paper scraping a one nil win despite having 20 shots against a team that didn't want to attack it's not good is it it's not good when you think about where these teams are going to finish so i think the fans have got a point but he said at least he can point to the fact look it's not been good enough but we are still in the mix which is you know you've got to give him some credit for that i think
Harry MansellHOST
25:25
Yeah, I've seen him get criticised as well for playing people slightly out of position.
Harry MansellHOST
25:29
I've seen people in the comments tonight saying he's persistent with Tommy Doyle being a number 10 when none of us agree with that.
Harry MansellHOST
25:35
Mane on the left where most would say he's a central player and no plan B in games, mate.
Chad JarvisHOST
22:32
Okay, yeah, he's going to make mistakes, but the only way he does make those mistakes is if you give him playing time.
Chad JarvisHOST
22:40
At some point, we're going to hit a growing spurt with him, and he's going to hit a wall like we saw with McIntyre, we saw with Tommy Doyle, we saw with Ndai.
Chad JarvisHOST
22:54
All of those young players, they at some point hit a wall.
Chad JarvisHOST
22:58
Well, the earlier we can get that out of the way, the better he's going to be and the more impactful he's going to be for us the entire season.
Nathan JudahHOST
30:15
Like I say, I thought he was pretty decent on the day.
Nathan JudahHOST
30:18
At the same time, when he gets substituted in the 70th minute for Tommy Doyle, cries of you don't know what you're doing from the Wolves fans, which 1-0 up, like I say, wet, windy day, preserving a lead.
Nathan JudahHOST
30:33
Were you surprised by those chants, Tim?
Tim SpiersHOST
30:37
And is that
Harry GillPANELIST
5:44
It was our... brain dead-ness, I guess, at the end of the game.
Harry GillPANELIST
5:49
Tommy Doyle with a ridiculous foul to give it on the edge of the box there.
Harry GillPANELIST
5:54
And then obviously we love to just leave men free on the edge of the box and he's able to bury it.
Harry GillPANELIST
6:00
So it's one of those, mate, that you have to take.
Harry MansellHOST
16:45
You've got a bunch of lads, a lot of them who were here last season.
Harry MansellHOST
16:49
I mean, obviously, Krejci, god saw behind him they've been there so many times hugo bueno so it felt like that to me and it was inevitable that the equalizer was coming and it it was their first shot on target the whole game portsmouth great molly but like you say a very needless tackle from tommy doyle i don't know what he was doing he was really poor and you just knew it was coming and when it went in like the bolton one didn't think we'd get an equalizer against bolton we went to one down there and i didn't feel like we were going to go on and get the winner when they equalized i just you just couldn't see it coming and i don't particularly think ports were very good which makes it even more painful for me because there was such a poor team and a team that you should be turning over quite comfortably especially with the injuries they had as well so yeah it was inevitable It was poor.
Harry MansellHOST
17:40
And although we drew and we didn't lose, I still felt as pissed off as I did when we lost to Bolton.
Harry MansellHOST
17:46
I think it was one of the most poor performances of the season.

19 MINS LATER

SamHOST
36:23
Definitely.
SamHOST
36:24
Do you agree with that, Harry? I sort of touched on it earlier that I just want you to talk me through that last probably 90 seconds to two minutes of the match on Tuesday because it was from start to finish a complete shit show and it was slow.
SamHOST
36:41
There was nobody commanding anything and and then Tommy Doyle ends up with a ball at his feet near the edge of the area, and I think he hit the South Bank clock.
Harry MansellHOST
36:54
Yeah, and just to throw another comedy angle in, the fact that Mosquera was up front, basically, wasn't he? Come on for Andre.
Jimmy SmithHOST
12:27
I understand that.
Jimmy SmithHOST
12:28
A lot would probably want to see Tommy Doyle in there as well, but...
Jimmy SmithHOST
12:33
I understand the reason for his selection.
Jimmy SmithHOST
12:36
Said, this is how Sky believe and StreamBuilder believe they'll set up.
Jimmy SmithHOST
14:23
Who else is out that we'd normally see? Obviously, Kavuma McQueen, who is...
Jimmy SmithHOST
14:29
on the bench, I'm sure.
Jimmy SmithHOST
14:30
So subs for Wolves are Bellegarde, Chirua, who scored the other day as well, Tommy Doyle, Totti, Jordan James, Conan the Barbarian, Mosquera, Virginia, and super experienced keeper, John Ruddy.
Jimmy SmithHOST
14:47
And on the Pompey bench...
James BirdHOST
32:13
He's put in a couple of really, really good balls.
James BirdHOST
32:16
The one for Armstrong, the outside of the boot one for Tommy Doyle and just gives us the ability to move up the pitch quickly.
James BirdHOST
32:24
We haven't had an outwinger like that in a while and I've been really pleased with him and I think that the final ball probably need some work, but that can hopefully change.
James BirdHOST
32:36
And then with Conan, Hugo's been a solid player for us, but Conan, again, just a bit more direct, can travel with the ball quicker up the pitch, can sort of, even within the first five minutes, was just looking to move forward with the ball.
Jimmy SmithHOST
8:34
Good evening, my mate.
Jimmy SmithHOST
8:36
Paul says what a week for Brum nine points going a bit giddy and hi Jimbo hi mate Dave says afternoon Jimmy and all last day in Scotland sad times oh you've had a good break Dave says John and he has thank you Scotland is stunning but to get to see mum and give her a hug tomorrow hope you are well love that thought Wolves would do it says John they've just got too many match winners in that squad for me that's the difference from the bench they brought on Mane who else did they bring on I had the erm So they brought on Mane, Tommy Doyle, Chirua, who was the goal scorer in the end.
Jimmy SmithHOST
9:13
Krejcik came on and Hugo Bueno.
Jimmy SmithHOST
9:15
So it's the big, big names to come off the bench, aren't they? Preston, says Luke.
Nathan JudahHOST
30:45
Do you play side? Look, I played 85 minutes, which I think, again, was surprising.
Nathan JudahHOST
30:49
That marauding run from one end of the pitch to the other as well, which was, like I said, culminated in that chance that Tommy Doyle missed.
Nathan JudahHOST
30:56
But him playing for such a long time does make me think twice of whether...
Nathan JudahHOST
31:02
he will start him now he was a man of the match and you've got to think that okay well if you're playing well and you're fit you're good to go at least give me 60 minutes against sportsman that's what i would do personally but matthias money coming on and looking a bit more like the money i think that we saw last season although still needs that goal would be probably his main threat on that left-hand side you've got bella guard as well who who might make way if you could play matthias money on the right um and side on the left how do you see that all working out with the game like i say only four days between Burnley and Porter.

Nathan JudahHOST

It worked well the other night.
Nathan JudahHOST
52:43
It worked well again.
Nathan JudahHOST
52:44
Same with Tommy Doyle as well.
Nathan JudahHOST
52:45
Keep these guys hungry.
