Shane McGrathGUEST
4:39
I don't know how you would feel now, you know, yourself, even if you won something big with the club.
Shane McGrathGUEST
4:44
But to see the outpouring of emotion, see Tomas Mulcahy and all he won as a player, I suppose, with the Glen and then obviously himself as what he did with Corklake in his own personal career.
Shane McGrathGUEST
4:58
Just to see the emotion On their faces afterwards And I suppose Particularly with the Dlane When they Went down a couple of years ago They came back up straight away And to do it When maybe a lot of people Down and around Cork Circus Were saying Maybe they were done like As a club for a while But Phenomenal stuff like Really really Class style Scenes were unreal Yeah
Cathal MullaneyHOST
5:17
Yeah, you're right there, Shane, about the relegation that they suffered three years ago.
Tommy RooneyCORRESPONDENT
37:35
I'm sure it was similar in Clare and a couple of other spots around the county.
Tommy RooneyCORRESPONDENT
37:38
are we talking like well over 100,000 attending club finals at the weekend I think very easily even with senior finals you'd absolutely get that and then you take into account you've got LGFA and Camogie finals you've got junior intermediate finals and men's hurling and football as well there's so much happening but in Cork Owen look it was a titanic battle I didn't think the bars were at their best early doors and next thing Brian Hayes gets into it and they take a lead at half time you listen to Tomás Mulcahy afterwards like the emotion the emotion in all of these games Sunday games it's just it's personal wherever you go and for different reasons some people are trying to win something in honour of fallen teammates or people that have gone before them others are just trying to get one over on the neighbours and Mulcahy afterwards said no disrespect but beating the bars makes it sweeter and I love that I love that because that's what keeps us going in the GAA it's the local rivalry when it gets the club and getting one up on the neighbours and even though I'm sure maybe not with the bars this week because they've got a football final to come but the tradition in a lot of counties is that the losing team will go on drink a couple of points on the Tuesday maybe with the with the winners in their own pub in their local or maybe vice versa the winners will go over to the beating team and I just think these teams keep coming back and I just think, I just love it.
Tommy RooneyCORRESPONDENT
38:56
I just love the honesty of that.
Tommy RooneyCORRESPONDENT
38:57
But Patrick Horgan, Hoggy, delivering.
Damien O'MearaGUEST
1:40
So the two city clubs had kind of not quite died off, but it's diminished in terms of their standing within the club.
Damien O'MearaGUEST
1:46
So unbelievable that these two, second and third on the Roll of Honour, like Glen Rovers, the club of Jack Lynch, the club of Christy Ring, Tomás Mulcahy, who people would be familiar with from the Sunday game over the years, managed them yesterday.
Damien O'MearaGUEST
1:56
So they came out on top and Patrick Horgan, arguably one of the greatest players of his generation, certainly one of the greatest Cork players of all time, instrumental in that victory.
BrendanHOST
2:05
Amazing.
John HorganPANELIST
0:31
It certainly is and the recovery mission has been completed successfully.
John HorganPANELIST

and immense credit to the Rovers for doing that because they've been down three years ago probably the darkest hour in their long and illustrious history and it was imperative that they bounce back as quickly as they could which they did in 12 months and here they are two years later and they're county champions and fantastic achievement and full credit to everybody involved the management team led by Thomas Mulcahy who stuck with them the truth they contain yesterday they were fighting in my opinion they were fully deserving winners yesterday
Denis HurleyHOST
1:05
the final margin was three points and Stamford and Bars could have even got a late equalising goal but the Glen were probably more than three points better over the course of the game they were definitely superior in the second half it's fair to say certainly but like the
John HorganPANELIST
1:22
we have to say both sides had some very very poor shots at goal a lot of way of shooting in the game the Bars in the first half and the Bars in the second half the Bales were in at half time two points ahead and you could probably say that half time maybe came came too early for them you know because they were a bit of a run at that stage but then when they resumed the Glen were reinvented again and they went forward again they were suddenly in the second half they were the better team yeah

John HorganPANELIST

John HorganPANELIST

going back to the Munster Club Championship like it's a very difficult championship to be in always club clubs have found out or recorded and it has been abysmal like I think Newtown Newtown Shandong were in 2009 were the last team to win it prior to Sazan 2034 when they'd be belly gunning in Torres that was a great day it was up there and then And hopefully Didlin, I think Didlin, knowing Didlin and the traditional history of Didlin and Thomas Mulcahy, they're going to have a go at this.
John HorganPANELIST
18:45
They certainly want to represent Cork as best they can and give their history.
Melanie BrowneHOST
1:40
It was the first time the two teams have met since 88, where Finbares came out on top last time, seven points.
Melanie BrowneHOST

Brendan O'BrienHOST
5:35
One of the lads in the press box with us there made it that Brian Hayes' first point in the 28th minute, that was his first time to touch the ball.
Brendan O'BrienHOST

But, uh, Glen Rovers manager Tomas Mulcahy has been speaking about the influence of Patrick Horgan and his own memories of playing the Barrs.
Tomas MulcahySOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
3:05
Well, I'm smiling because I was captain of the team in nineteen eighty-eight, and the Barrs gave us an unmerciful hammering out there.
Tomas MulcahySOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
3:10
Um, lucky enough, I came back the following year to cap the team to win it in eighty-nine.

Matt CooperHOST
3:40
But yet you had the fallow period, didn't you, between 1989 and 2015 without a senior county title?
Patrick HorganGUEST
3:46
Yeah, it was a long time, 26 years.
Melanie BrowneHOST
