Blues kept it under wraps.

There's only a few people knew that he would be coming back for this game.

And I think it was suitably respectful and low key because obviously the stroke has affected him.

And I think it possibly surprised and shocked a lot of us that, you know, how frail that he looked.

But on the other side to that, I think what a guy to actually be so determined after what he's gone through to be back front and centre at St Andrews and I'm sure he probably shouldn't have been back this early I don't know what did you make of it because when when the when word sort of suddenly got around hold on you know Tom Wagner's back everyone in the lower cop turned around you know the Tommy Wagner song came out, and it was really highly charged, highly emotional, wasn't it? Yeah, it

was.

I'm just not sure that they're, they didn't really make the kind of the big imprint in the transfer market that has become so familiar.

This feels like a bit of the momentum has been lost from the project and and look that's partly that's like possibly understandable to some extent given that Tom Wagner you know suffered a stroke which was really awful and actually he made his first visit to St Andrews since then in this game and looked really touched by the reception he got and you know I've mentioned a few times before that I've interviewed him and he's like he is a force of nature he was the he was the the bullish voice behind Nighthead's takeover and, you know, saying that they want to be playing, they can't wait to be playing Aston Villa in Europe, things like that.

You know, he's got no qualms about stating the aims of the owners.

So, like, there's been a bit of a kind of uneasy undercurrent, I think.

But yeah, still unbeaten, still going well in the Championship early doors.

Also great to see Tom Wagner back.

I think we should start with that.

Wagner returned first game in just over seven months after obviously suffering that stroke.

And it was great to see him back at St Andrews, wasn't it?

yeah it was very neatly orchestrated as well because clearly it wasn't an easy thing for him to do to get from the top of the steps down to his seat so doing it when people were distracted by the entry of the players and the fireworks and all that sort of thing was very very sensible but it felt meaningful it was a reminder that the project still lies ahead and the commitment of knighthead is there It was a sign of just how poorly he's been because we could see the scarring, we could see that his arm was in a sling, and also how much it means to him.

He really wanted to be back at St Andrews, and I think he sensed that the supporters and the players and the people who worked behind the scenes needed a glimpse, just a reminder of how important and how charismatic Tom Wagner is as a leader.

So it was a really significant moment, I think, in the early part of the season.
