Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate has sworn at an ABC reporter while being questioned about his dinner with US President Donald Trump.

Tom Tate claimed he had dinner with the Trumps at their Mar-a-Lago residence, but it's unclear whether the president and first lady were present.

The journalist repeatedly asked the mayor how the trip was funded before Tom Tate snapped back.

It's private, the payment.

So what's the vibe on Tom Tate? I don't know much about him.

I see him on the news all the time.

He looks a bit cranky.

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate got well and truly stuck into an, uh, inquisitive ABC reporter yesterday when he was questioning Tate endlessly about who paid the bill for a trip he made to meet Donald Trump.

Certainly, we know that in the Royal Commission on Antisemitism, virtually nothing was done to address this issue, which is the elephant in the room.

And we'll also talk about Tom Tate with Mark Latham.

Look, Mark Latham had the propensity over his political career to... go off his brain at certain individuals, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

That's meant to be in Philadelphia, but right now he has no in-house band and no opening acts.

this morning there's still no apology from mayor tom tate to an abc journalist after he lashed out and told that journal to f off during a press conference yesterday where he was being grilled about his so-called dinner with u.s president donald trump earlier this year you'll remember that happened at the mar-a-lago estate in florida tom tate was over there being wined and dined allegedly by the u.s president along with his son and also his wife melania hoping to get a deal done for Australia's first ever Trump Tower here on the Gold Coast.

That deal, of course, has now been cancelled.

But at the time, a couple of weeks after he returned from that trip, this is what he said on Breakfast Radio.
