Hey, I want to bring up something else about this episode, which is that this is the first of a run of a few episodes where Tom Servo has a Kermit the Frog's towel voice.

Like, you can see his ankles.

It was nice seeing, you know, Tom Servo and Crow back.

But, oh, dudes.

And then just letting him play kind of in all situations.

So let me jump in on that because, uh, Tom Servo in chat makes a good point.

You know what's funny is that I remember, and okay, this is a lot of money going to the Mystery Science Theater jar for this episode, but I remember in the host segment where Jill and the Vots discussed the song, the couple at the center of the story, who are not named in the song, but Tom Servo gave them names, and he named them Rick and Julie.

Well, and you know, at that time...

Julie was like one of the most, you know, popular names that somebody could have, you know? Yep.

But those heads were nowhere near this big.

The movie today is so bad, it makes Tom Servo's head explode, and he's still in critical condition at movie break.

A panicked attempt to save him begins as Crow does his Shatner impression, and Joel is in, like, full ER mode.

Get the defibrillator! Clear! Tom comes back in an impression of a TV sports guy and has a silly near-death experience to recount.

And we had dinner the night before with some friends of my father's, and these were, you know, adults.

And I was bored until I heard one of them say, in, like, genuinely in this accent, like, "Oh, yeah, there's nothing good on TV except for Frasier and that Mystery Science Theater 3000." And I was like, "Wait, what?" She's like, "Oh, yeah, I love Tom Servo." And it turned out that her info club member number was a digit shorter than mine.

Like, she'd been in for years, which just goes to show that you can't assume that just because people are your parents' friends that they're not cool.

Anyway, my point is, meeting someone who was into it was like meeting, you know, a fellow member of your secret society back in those days.
