At the time, there was letters going back and forth about his great work, he says.

West, Jolly West, they call him Jolly West, used hypnosis and drugs.

And even a CIA agent on the Joe Rogan show said this was – that's where the Manson power movement was getting their LSD, was getting their acid.

um and and uh within like about a week or two of tom tom o'neill's book coming out the ashbury clinic closed uh after 50 years of being open they closed all of a sudden so anyway um This is how they created the Manson family.

The Manson family were going to these sex and drug parties in Los Angeles because Manson moved them all to the Spahn Ranch in Los Angeles and had them go to these sex and drug parties and basically working as prostitutes to add to the orgies at these parties.

Mm-hmm.

Now, there's this great book by Tom O'Neill, which is called Chaos, which does speak to just the role of intelligence forces in that particular area with the Manson murders in particular.

But you're on the periphery of this in your book.

Can you explain to us just your thought process and what you were researching that led you to include this as part of the narrative?

It's also a matter of public record that the CIA's MKUltra and Operation Chaos were actively working to infiltrate and neutralize domestic protest groups during this exact period.

However, historians like Tom O'Neill, author of Chaos, Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the 60s, takes a more nuanced view.

O'Neill spent 20 years researching Manson's ties to the government and concluded that while there is significant evidence of a cover-up regarding Manson's parole and potential use as a confidential informant, a monolithic occult psyop is harder to prove.
