Tom McLeish

Tell me how that came about.

Good friend of mine was a lovely Christian and world-leading scientist called Tom McLeish, and he was Pro-Vice Chancellor at Durham University for research, and he and I would meet, and we would occasionally moan, and we'd moan about bishops.

And our moan would be this, Andrew: that when bishops or senior church leaders were asked about science, they were either negative, fearful, or silent about science.

And we felt that if your senior church leader or your leader of your para-church organization was fearful, negative, or silent about science, that had a ripple-down effect.
