Lachmore Castellani are into a quarterfinal after a narrow enough victory over Upper Church.

Tom McGrathGUEST
Yeah, I suppose probably just shaded most of like the key key thing was probably in the rarely in a game like that the key the key key moment was probably in the second minute when one of connell got forward and got and got a goal two games in a row now he scored goals like but um like not more because they didn't really push forwards like that's really that was the difference i felt in their in their match against grange walkford they really stamped their authority on it from the off and here they had the chance to do the same thing but strangely kind of sat back a bit, and you know, you don't invite upper church footballers on you, or hurlers either for that matter, and sort of then just, it developed into a bit of a slugfest then, like, and stops there to be the old tetanus crept into it with seven nil of cards in the first half, and the unusual situation of the referee calling the two captains together at halftime to have a chinwag with them, and words didn't seem to get through because after 10 seconds there was an 8 yellow card but it stopped after that then and there was a bit of football but then you see the football games I suppose nowadays get a bit more exciting coming down the stretch because like the end is in sight and like you know the consequences of the result I mean it was a winner take all although a draw would have done a lot more but you don't try and play for draws in football matches but No, it wasn't something that you would, you know, you'd be glued to your seat looking at it or anything like that.

Tom McGrathGUEST
You'd be squirming, like, really, because you didn't know what was going to happen next.

Tom McGrathGUEST
Because an unusual stat is that they actually had more shots at the target over the hour than Lachmore Castagne.

Tom McGrathGUEST
but Lachmore has only scored the majority of theirs and Overture didn't and I suppose that's what the game is about is who takes their chances but no not very inspiring stuff as you can gauge

Yeah, I suppose, um, just talking to, talking to Charlie after the match, like they're, they're a good few of the players that they, they won the, they won the Intermediate County final two years ago.

Tom McGrathGUEST
A couple of lads have retired, a couple of lads have, have emigrated or, well, traveling I suppose is, is a more, uh, is a better word now, I suppose.

Tom McGrathGUEST
So when you add them up and, you know, to be fair, Grangemouth are like a lot of the clubs, resources wouldn't be the thickest on the ground.

Tom McGrathGUEST
And when you take, um, a cut off the, some of, some of the lads at the top and the more experienced level, it c- it can, it, it, it, there's no getting about it, it impacts ser- seriously on the team, and morale then takes a bit of a buffeting as well, like, so.

But w- did you see something about, in Loughmoore's performance against Grangemouth that probably gives you some confidence for the going deep and, and into the latter stages of the championship?

In terms of quality, in terms of the field, the team they put on the field, they are, they are potential semifinalists.

Tom McGrathGUEST
Well, no doubt about that, but, like, there's an awful lot being made, particularly at intercounty level, and that mirror, that's mirrored in the, in the club scene too.

Tom McGrathGUEST
Um, goalkeeper, Evan Comerford, great, great, great kick, distance, short, accurate.

Tom McGrathGUEST
And, and then now he has fellas that are capable of winning the aerial balls, so his link comes into play.

Tom McGrathGUEST
So no, I think, I think Kilkea are a, are a team, are a force to be reckoned with this year.

Here it is, with the examples that should give you pause.

Tom McGrathGUEST
So the basic idea here is that you can take your data set and you can push the whole thing through the model.

Tom McGrathGUEST
The specific thing that we're doing with that in this case is we're looking at preference data.

The basic process here is we take a model and we add some interpretability tool.

Tom McGrathGUEST
We've got some new exciting techniques, like take us to these geometric shapes.
