Tom Kundig

So it's about the experiment much more than the financial success of it.

We asked Tom Kundig this question when we spoke to him recently.

He now is part of a practice of about 300 people.

He has this quite charming way of not seeming to be able to believe how big the practice has become.

Yeah.

I was talking to Jeffrey Dungham from America, and he's from Alabama, and he said to me, know how it is this is one of my early podcasts but you know how it is the building kind of puts it just builds itself in front of you after all all we're really doing is filling boxes with light and air and i'm like yeah i do know how that is i've had that conversation with plenty of architects at different times and some of them don't see it that way at all not even slightly Tom Kundig said to me, I'm a floor drawer.

And I said to him, Tom, what's a floor drawer? Never heard of one of them.

And he goes, I always start with the floor plan.

Like the Villa Savoie at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
