And the mark of an auteur, you see a frame and you're like, Oh, I know who directed this movie.

I think so.

Yeah.

I think he's like achieved that no one has.

But I think in terms of actually like creating consistent watchable movies for everyone, I think Denis might be like is there now.

Like maybe when Denis gets as prominent or like as big as Nolan in five or ten years or something, if that happens, he might go down the same path where he like starts becoming not like niche, but like maybe he has a style that some people might actually not enjoy or like, you know, cause I think some people watch Nolan movies and they're like, Oh, it's just too confusing.

Or he's like, he's jumping around with time too much.

Do you feel like becoming a doctor has made you feel more powerful like as someone who can save lives or has it made you more resigned that life goes the way it's supposed to go and you kind of just hold our hands through it?

Immediately following the earthquake, smaller ferry services picked up the slack, and in 2011, SF Bay Ferry was born.

Our core mission is emergency water transit in the event of a natural disaster or another event that disrupts the existing transportation system in the Bay Area.

Since we have all the boats and terminals, uh, to be ready for that, we might as well, you know, moonlight as a ferry operator, uh, in the interim.

And much of that more intensive maintenance work also happens in the Bay.

At our two maintenance facilities, we have one in Alameda, um, our Central Bay facility, and the second one is in V- Vallejo on Mare Island.

They're both on decommissioned military bases.

[chuckles]

I, I, I hope mine can, uh, can come up to, to the same bar.

Um, so th- this train in New Zealand, um, there it is off the, you know, few hours flight off the coast of, uh, of Australia, um, the TranzAlpine train on the South Island of New Zealand.

Um, this is another one, a little bit like Mark, what Mark was saying about the, the Kyle line in Inverness, um, uh, in Scotland, um, the, it goes from Christchurch on the, um, on the east coast of the South Island, right across the Southern Alps of, um, of the South Island of New Zealand, to, um, to the, to the west coast.

It's, it's a beautiful mountainous journey, but it is this graded change that you get as you go up and over the mountains that really stays in people's minds, and it is a joy to ride because it has this open observation car that you can go and stand in, and it's fresh air that slowly gets colder as you go up and then warms up again as you're descending onto the, onto the west coast.

Um, but superb coastal scenery, superb alpine scenery, and also the gateway to some adventures on the west coast of South Island, whether you like bungee jumping or exploring glaciers or all kinds of amazing things.

What's special about it?

Um, you know, this is, this is like a, a whole new to-do list for me.

Um, and the look, the Rocky Mountaineer is a, is another train that I think will be on a lot of people's, uh, to-do lists.

Um, it is an absolutely amazing way to travel from Vancouver on the, uh, British Columbia coast to Banff in Alberta.

Um, it's quite a long way, this journey, thirty-seven hours, five hundred and fifty miles, um, but an absolutely ad- amazing adventure.

Um, it, the, the railroad itself, uh, you know, we describe it in Amazing Train Journeys as all at once, a geological field trip, a sightseeing adventure, and a wildlife safari, and that's just a fantastic way of describing it.
