How do you never find yourself in that injured state? You know, it, it must be tricky.

I've had my fair share of them over the course of the last, like, 10 years, but there's so much preparation that goes in through the summer into learning these tricks on these facilities that we're able to get access to, like these airbags and the foam pits and such.
T

But then there is also, like, everyone has that element of you maybe tried this trick on the airbag two months ago, three months ago.

There's a long time between these seasons, and you get to the sort of November time where it's early season, icy, cold, and you've kind of gotta just kick yourself down the mountain a little bit and crack...

So what is the main tactics that you used to be able to push through that anxiety and still perform well?

I think it's something I've accumulated over however many years of gymnastic experience and freestyle skiing experience.

But the biggest thing for us is that the air time is the key partAnd the commitment is such a big factor, so you kind of have to be stood at the top of the jump and you know you're gonna drop in and fully commit to this, 'cause if you don't fully commit to it, that's when things do go wrong.

Rob StewartHOST
And how do you get that balance of fear right and not fear? I mean, do you need a little bit of fear to kind of get that adrenaline going, or are you calm and you just don't have any fear at all?
T

I get this question a lot, and I often say that I don't feel scared trying new tricks, which people kind of bat an eyelid and they're like, "What?" Not only do you have to be fully 100% confident in your ability to do it, but also things for me personally go wrong when I'm in a state of panic, like, like for everyone.

I have to completely compose myself, and often the best performances come out of me when I'm in a really calm head space, which is stark contrast to what it looks like we're doing from the spot, you know?
