In this hour, Erin Reid Miller's novel, But For Fortune, explores intergenerational mental illness, discrimination, and family secrets.

She's Tom Eblen's guest for his series on Kentucky literature.

For his series, I'm Not From Here, David Miller talks with Katerina Stoykova about moving to Kentucky from Bulgaria.

And we'll hear some fine string music from recording artist Chris Mullins.

For Eastern Standard, I'm David Miller.

I'm Tom Martin, and you're listening to Eastern Standard.

Tom Eblen's guest has drawn on her own experiences as a doctor to craft a novel around generational mental illness, discrimination, and family secrets.
