Tom Cartwright

[laughs] Um, so yeah, there's, it, there's, uh, I think the English cricket establishment came out very badly from, uh, from that.

And then Tom Cartwright, who was a bowler, pulled out injured and there's, you know, some, you know, whether he, he did so on moral grounds, um, uh, it's, that's i- entirely possible.

So they then en- ended up after a lot of public pressure calling D'Oliveira back into the squad, at which point the, the apartheid South African government, um, uh, described the squad as being, having been picked by the enemies of South Africa and the, the, the, the tour was, was, was called off.

So it, it, um, I mean, uh, in terms of the cricketing scandal, obviously this is within the context of the, the, the crime that was, that was apartheid and, um, uh, yeah, it had a huge, a huge impact on, on the world, um, a- and, and on the, um, you know, the gr- the gradual, um, uh, dismantling of a- of apartheid and then, uh, the eventual release of, of Nelson Mandela, the end of apartheid and, um, and South Africa then coming back into international, uh, international cricket.
