Well, joining me to discuss this, Dr Margaret Harris is a public health doctor specialising in global health and risk communication.

Samantha Burgess is Deputy Director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service, ECMWF, and Tom Burke is Chairman of E3G, that's Third Generation Environmentalism.

Samantha, to you first of all, what do you think is the one key factor of all these heat waves, the impact that we should be most, most concerned about?

I think the biggest concern is that heat is no longer an isolated weather event.
