Tom Buck

We've both been involved in and promoted the G3 Women's Expository Teaching Workshop, and we've recommended their resources and materials to you numerous times.

Additionally, between us, we both have personal connections to several of those involved in this story, including Pastor Tom Buck of First Baptist Church, Lindale, Texas, whom we've mentioned several times in past episodes.

And we've briefly touched on this story recently in part two of how we spent our summer vacation series.

Well, today, we are going to explore this story in greater depth.

But I am continuing to update my article as new information and developments arise, so please refer to that for any changes.

So here's what happened.

In March of this year, 2026, an anonymous source, which was later revealed to be all four of the elders of Praise Mill Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia, uh, who were also all in leadership at G3 Ministries, mailed out what has been called a packet or a dossier of allegations against Tom Buck, pastor of First Baptist Church of Lindale, Texas, and former G3 board member, theologian, and instructor.

A copy was sent to each of the elders and deacons of Tom's church, accusing Tom of multiple instances of plagiarism in his sermons.

The board members of G3, who are also elders at Praise Mill Baptist Church, from which the organization G3 came out of, they emailed, well, emailed, they snail mailed it.

They sent it through the mail, through the postal service, they mailed these packets that showed Tom Buck, the pastor that I worked with in Lindale, Texas, that showed him plagiarizing entire swaths of sermons.

At least that was the claim.

But when I did a video showing that what they were accusing Tom of was not accurate, yes, there were some things that he needed to do a better job of citing, and he recognized that and he's made those corrections.

On August the 17th, a scandal broke involving G3 Ministries and its founding church, Praise Mill Baptist Church of Douglasville, Georgia.

In March of 26, members of G3 leadership, including, it was later revealed, the four elders of Praise Mill Baptist Church, Scott Annual, Matt Sykes, John Norton, and Dylan Joyner, anonymously and underhandedly sent largely baseless and exaggerated accusations of sermon plagiarism to the leadership of Pastor Tom Buck's church, First Baptist Church of Lindale, Texas.

Tom's church fully investigated the accusations, and they and Tom resolved the situation in a biblical way.

But that wasn't good enough for these anonymous, at the time, accusers.

But then what the elders at Praise Mill Baptist Church started doing was even worse.

And they, I think, Virgil, correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding of this is late last year, Tom Buck put up a post on X, and he said that he believed that Josh Weiss was truly repentant, even back then, almost a year ago.

I want to say this was November, correct me if I'm wrong, November-ish when Tom put that post up.

And then the rest of the guys at G3, Scott Aniel and others, that really incensed them because they did not believe that for whatever reason.

And they got very angry at Tom Buck's post, and I think that's kind of when things really went south between Tom Buck, who was on the board of G3, and the other guys.

And then here in this last year or so, Scott Annual and Matt Sykes and the other two elders at Praise Mill thought they had discovered a smoking gun against Tom Buck.

They thought they had discovered Significant plagiarism in his sermons.

One of them was listening to a sermon by Tom Buck, and what Tom said in a particular section rang a bell with him.

The pastors confessed to anonymously mailing packets to elders and deacons at a Texas church.

Those packets accused Pastor Tom Buck of plagiarizing sermons dozens of times over nearly a decade.

The men behind the scheme include G3's president, Scott Aniol, along with three other pastors.

All four resigned their position at Praise Mill Baptist Church in Georgia after coming clean.

Because, I'm kind of delaying it, I don't know why.

They stepped down because, I guess they were wanting to slander Tom Buck, who's a pastor in Texas.

He's affiliated with G3, he's online.

He had some stuff with Jennifer Buck, his wife.

Just lots and lots of problems.

And they basically, he stepped away and they slandered him.

They even had a pastor, I guess, drive to Texas to mail these envelopes to expose Tom Buck, which they did originally to his elders or his deacons at least.

And that didn't really work.
