Abraham was great, right? How many parashiot about Abraham? Lech Lecha, Vayera, Toldot, right? All these, uh, Chaye Sarah.

All these parashiot about Abraham Avinu, his greatness.

Yitzhak is very little.

So it's critical to know how to interpret and explain it properly, understanding the spirituality of it.

So basically when we talk about all these levels below, even Esav so the reb emphasizes often the beginning of Parshat Toldot says Yaakov-- Says, "Elu toldos Yitzchak." Rashi says, "[foreign language] Who are the children of Yitzchak? [Foreign language] that are written about in the parsha." So there's the, the simple pshat explanation.

What is Rashi coming to add? We can figure that out ourselves.

Why does Rashi have to say it? But the deeper, primis dick answer is because there's aYaakovand aEsavthat amur im baParasha.

But then Yaakov redeems the physical world and links it to the spiritual.

That's why it says in Parashat Toldot, "Yaakov was a tamim dwelling in tents." Yaakov was a complete man.

He was complete because he'd reconciled the neshamah, the intellect, with the ruach, the emotion, but even the nefesh, the physicality, the life force.

And Yaakov instituted the Ma'ariv, Ma'ariv prayer, and this corresponds to the limbs and fats of the animal Korbanot, which are roasted overnight.
