Tokai University

Some Japanese scholars warn the government's actions are exposing residents to greater security risk.

Masahiko Yamashita is professor emeritus at Tokai University.

He says Japan is militarizing under the guise of defense and it should be stopped.

To deploy missiles with a range of up to 1,000 kilometers in such a densely populated area under the name of so-called attacking enemy bases, this act itself has already crossed a red line.

The year after that, a Mitsubishi office worker turned up at the start line.

Kenjiro Shinodzuka grew up in Tokyo, and while he was still at Tokai University, he was noticed by the Colt Motorsports Club, Mitsubishi's in-house team for employees who rallied.

He joined the company in 1971 as a regular salaried employee.

He raced on weekends and the rest of his time off and still somehow managed back-to-back Japanese rally titles, which tells you either that this guy was bloody good or that the competition in Japan at the time, maybe not great.

Where did you stay? So I used to be the international residence.

I used to go to Tokai University.

So if you're...

It's funny.

So if you go to... any of the universities, that's where it all starts.

Not all starts, it starts way before, but that's when it starts getting serious, the programs that they have.

So I'll go and train at Tokai University, amongst others, Kodokan, which was like the mecca of judo in Japan.

But Tokai, Yoshiro Yamashita was the coach there at the time, and he's one of the all-time greatest judo players.

Eventually, he graduated from high school as well and decided to move on to a university.

Masanori got into Tokai University in Tokyo, a large and well-known university within the country that is considered to be moderately hard to get into.

However, although it seemed like he was on the right track, this is where things would truly come to fall apart for him.

According to some of his neighbors, he said that he was being bullied at his university.
