TOEM: A Photo Adventure

Yeah, you kinda know what to expect kinda thing, and it can kind of warp your expectations a bit.

it feels like it takes what worked in Toem and it just adds a few more things to it.

it was like 17 it's like it's fine but i have not gone back to it but one time since i made that purchase because just we're now in the season i think control will literally tide me over until gta like once gta comes out i will probably be locked in on that for a hot minute sure let

I didn't play Toem.

I'm trying to figure out if it's good enough to draft Toem 2 in my fantasy critics.

Is Toem the black and white one? Yes, with like the cartoony creatures.

Yeah, I don't think I played Toem.

I tried some Chicory.

I love me some indies, and I loved the first game called Toem.

Uh, it came out a couple years ago, a few years ago.

I talked about it on this show, like, a year ago.

This fun little, uh, almost, like, Pokémon Snap meets Mario, meets, I don't know, puzzle solving, a quirky story, weird art style thing, and this is that again.

That game was purely 2D though.

This game, Toem 2, which just came out, is in full three, three dimensions with lots of little 2D character stuff.

It looks like the, the characters are 2D-

Um, I wanna talk about TOEM 2, uh, very briefly.

Uh, this, Jesse, did you play the first one of these? For some reason I figured that this is in your wheelhouse.

Thank you, I think? Uh, [laughs] I did not.

And on the way, you are basically taking photographs and completing quests, and when you get enough stamps in your book by taking the photographs and completing the quests, then the bus, uh, driver lets you on the next bus to the next town, and you go on and go on and go on.

The first game wasn't very long.

I think it was maybe three or four hours long, and I've read that TOEM 2's about the same.

Mm.

Yes, absolutely.

I'm going to briefly talk about Toem 2.

um and and then the the review keys as well so thank you thanks to yes pop agenda and something we made for those that was incredible um toem two i'm still very very early on in i'm saving most of it for the weekend after i finish well dweller and sovereign tower because oh right it's got a lot of games time's coming

time comes for us

all it does um so so i guess my early thoughts about toem 2 um i really like the i don't want to say improvements outright that they made but like there are quality of life things that they added to toem two from toem one that i think for me made the experience better the the world is just a little bit more 3d whereas in the original toem it's got kind of a paper mario vibe where everything is sort of like a paper standee kind of vibe yeah yeah

On September 29th, we have Toem 2 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Switch.
