Todos Santos

I recently went on a trip to Mexico and it was my first time in the Cabo area.

And so we went to a town called Todos Santos, which is about an hour north of Cabo.

Cabo.

We spent a week with a friend of mine who happens to play basketball, but he's much better than me at it.

It's honestly like New York pricing on food.

I'm like, I want to try some of the local flavors.

So we found the cab, got out of the resort, went into this town again called Todos Santos.

And we found this taco stand called Tacos La Salsa, the sauce.

Oh, I didn't see that.

And about six weeks ago, I joined Paige Alexandra West and her team for an Iboga retreat at Eterio in Baja, just outside Todos Santos.

And this experience gave me a very personal understanding of why this medicine requires such a tight container and why reducing Iboga to a single clinical alkaloid, Ibogaine, can often leave out the culture, ceremony, and community that have carried it for generations.

And so I wanted to bring Paige on the podcast to talk about what is really required to hold both sides of this work with integrity.

Now, who is Paige? Paige is the founder of Viterio, an aboga retreat center outside Todos Santos in Baja, California, Sur, Mexico.

She is a twice-initiated Bwiti practitioner who first came to this medicine through years of supporting detox and aftercare at Ibogaine clinics.

After losing her brother to a fentanyl overdose, Paige traveled to Gabon for initiation with the Masoko Bwiti in 2021. completed the Niembe Rites in 2022, and was initiated with the FANG in 2025.

Of course, we do vitals checks, you know, before each ceremony and as needed.

And then I moved to part-time, and that's when I bought the house just down the street from Rancho Pescadero.

And for those who don't know it, Pescadero is near Todos Santos.

It's an hour north of Cabo San Lucas.

And so all of a sudden one day I went for a run on the beach and had a Baja aha and the epiphany of why don't we have midlife wisdom schools? And next thing I knew we were, we were creating, uh, the world's first sort of like wisdom school.
