On the afternoon of June 11th, 1980, a man climbed to the top of a coal pile in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, and found a body lying face up on the black stones.

The man was middle-aged, dressed in a suit, and missing his shirt.

His wallet and watch were gone, his wedding ring absent from his finger, and his hair had been cropped short in a way that didn't match how he'd looked a few days earlier.
