Todd Christensen

I was the lead play-by-play guy for the Mountain West Conference for their television network for five years.

And I worked with Todd Christensen, who was just all these one-of-a-kind people, man.

My wife says I'm like a weirdo magnet, and I'm saying that in a good way.

Todd Christensen is one of my favorite people of all time.

But he was a different cat, and I just loved being around him.

And so just all of these experiences in broadcasting, I taught a class actually in the last 10 years.

No. Uh-uh.

Not until Todd Christensen came along or

Kellen Winslow.

And he loved Tom Landry because when he played with the Eagles, he hated it.

Dude, and this is weird, but I grew up an Oilers fan, and our rival was the Raiders and Jim Plunkett.

So those are – it was Todd Christensen, the tight end.

So those are the guys I think of – I know I'm a date myself, but those are the guys I think of when I think of the Raiders.

Kenny King and Frank Hawkins ran the ball effectively.

And Wilson capped the drive off with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Dave Kasper.

You're talking Raymond Chester.

You're talking Todd Christensen.

Obviously, this guy is going to rewrite, I think, despite the history of great tight ends with the Raiders, he's going to rewrite this whole record book for this franchise.

I agree.

Here is my definition of a Hall of Fame player.

I don't wanna know, like, you know, people are saying Todd Christensen shouldn't be in the, in the NFL Hall of Fame because he doesn't have the receiving yards as an Antonio Gates.

Okay.

He played in a different era.

Now, now please hear me for a minute.

And in the NFL, I, I think it was Deion Sanders, but I'm paraphrasing, someone recently came out and said, "Now we're just giving it away." No, no.

And when I hear, when I talk to Hall of Fame people privately and I bring up Todd Christensen and they say things to me like, "Well, the Raiders have so many..." Well, it, it doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter how many you have.
