So Amex acquired Resy in 2019.

I think it was the first of many acquisitions they've since had, including, um, Tock and, um, The Fork, which is a European, um, reservation platforms.

I'm sure many others.

But the idea is restaurants are a huge, huge area of spending for people with disposable income, right? If you're a credit card company, you have the aggregate information of how much money is being spent on restaurants and travel every quarter by all of your consumers.

On the front end, there's these marketplaces.

You got OpenTable, you got Resy, you've got Tock.

Um, but beyond, beyond that, when a restaurant does everything that they can within, within that sphere, and they still have empty tables, there's really very little that, that they can do.

And so when, when someone comes in and says, "We're going to consolidate this traffic and point them with- to, you know, to our, uh, to the participants in the, in the marketplace," they, they see that as the actual solution to a lot of their, a lot of their problems.

That'll be a fun one.

The Platinum and Gold cards have those bigger quarterly, uh, credits that you get to use.

Those are gonna get easier to use next month.

Um, that's because Tock restaurants, including some wineries and some experiences, are now appearing on the Resy dining app this week, uh, bringing the rivals Resy and Tock together under Amex's ownership.

Most importantly, that means your Resy credits are going to work at Tock restaurants, but Not until September 15th when this all goes into effect.

So there you go.

Speaking of Amex, Resy, the reservation system that Amex owns, is now adding Tock restaurants, wineries, and experiences to its booking system.

So that's gonna give card holders a lot more options of where they can use Resy credits if they have those on their eligible credit card.

So Tock and Resy were different booking platforms, and they have basically merged into one.

This is relevant for people who have cards that have Amex Resy credits because beginning September 15th, if you made a purchase at a Tock restaurant, now that will count towards the Resy credit.

Some of the cards that have this credit include the Amex Platinum card, which we just talked about.

That one has a $400 a year Resy credit broken out into $100 in quarterly credits.
