Toby Martin

Hearing the music of Early New South Wales is a key influence on this episode and we will be hearing music from the project as well as talking to two of its participants.

Toby Martin has been in the music scene for over 20 years, both as a solo artist and as a member of the band Youth Group.

He's also an historian and a key researcher in the project.

We'll be hearing from Toby later in this episode.

One song from that period may or may not have been performed at the theatre, but it was certainly inspired by the Emu Plains convict farm.

It is called The Exile of Erin on the Plains of Emu, with lyrics written by settler John McGarvey.
