Toby Marlow

Definitely wanted to sleep after this.

Um, for those who don't know, and I would be surprised if you didn't, but hey, you never know, Lucy, along with Toby Marlow, is best known for writing Six, for which she won a Tony for Best Score, a nomination for a Tony for Best Direction, and five additional Olivier nominations for the show.

She also co-wrote Why Am I So Single? with Marlow, directed Veduttti the Musical online, and Legally Blonde at Regent's Park, and was featured on Times 100 List 2022.

Thank you so much.

[upbeat jazz music] Now, one show that I absolutely had to see on this trip was Six.

Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss' pop concert musical about Henry VIII's six wives, who are out here turning their stories into a competition to decide who suffered the most under Henry, is going from strength to strength all around the world.

Tudor history meets a modern girl group concert.

It's crazy.

That, that being said, if you are not a musical person, I urge you to at least attempt to listen to this episode because there are some shows that I think the general public really would like if they give them a chance.

I totally agree with you, and I mean, I think that's, that's clear just based on, like, from my own personal experience.

Like, my fiance is an artist, but he's not necessarily a theater person, and it wasn't until I started doing musicals and we started, I mean, we started dating, that he started getting really exposed to that.

The same with my dad and my mom.

No, don't-

Trigger warning, Matthew Morris.

[laughs] Rent, and then my personal favorite of the live ones, Jesus Christ Superstar.

I liked, um, The Wiz a lot.
