The Toadies have a new album released this year called The Charmer, recorded by Steve Albini in his Chicago studio Electrical Audio.

Where it's just like, to me it's just like this is just like, I'm like, like I had the T- I had The Toadies.

I interviewed The Toadies last night, one of my favorite bands as a kid.

So I'm, I'm always just talking to winners I feel like, so, so I, I don't see how other people see it a lot of times.

And then like there's a, there's a box, there's a box or two of...

You know it a thousand percent.

Of course there is Carrot Hands.

So you can just pull your repertoire.

But one song by the Toadies, Possum Kingdom.

Um, it kind of has like a, an odd time signature, every other measure.

So the drumming has to do something different while the rhythm, you know, the vocals are sort of staying to a certain way.

so that's two.

You mentioned the Toadies.

Yeah, because they're well, they were top of mind one because I do remember seeing them a long time ago, but

I think that's why the record sounds the way it does, you know.

And you said the key word, man, that I know I've covered in a lot of interviews, no matter if it's a younger band or a band that's been together for 30 years, like Toadies, who we had Vaden on a few weeks ago.

The thing that everyone seems to be talking about right now is, you know, AI, obviously.

But people also are looking for honesty and authenticity, which I think, you know, from what it sounds like you mentioned, Weren't really hiding behind the lyrics, but maybe it makes it a little bit easier to, you know, put them out there now because people are looking for that honesty.

Right, right.

That's gotta be a great feeling, man.

Well, you've been touring with Toadies.

As I mentioned earlier on the show, Vaden was on the show a few weeks ago, and he was just in a good place, a happy place.

Right.

So you look at the track listing of this album and you've got Toadies and you've got Shades Apart and there's some hip hop and punk and everything else.

Primus kind of fits right in, even though they really don't.

They don't fit into any one of those categories, but if you are making a compilation, I think that they fit in between multiple categories, and it makes sense.

That's why I'm throwing it out there.

It was by the Toadies, and the album's called Rubberneck.

So an album I just played from start to finish, from Backslider to I Come From the Water and Away.

Like, I just played the hell out of that album, man.

So I'm throwing it out there because no one else is going to say it, but Rubberneck Toadies was one of my favorites back in the day.
