Um, and then, um, I was able to, to see the intersections, see where the conversations aligned, see where, where we weren't talking to each other 'cause this is again, where the silos keep us apart.

Um, for instance, in slavery studies, we've seen in the past decade with people like, um, Hartman, who is, is situated a little bit differently, but then you have a Marisa Fuentes, um, [clears throat] you have, um, Jennifer Morgan, um, Tiya Miles, like these, these great slavery historians who are asking us to ask questions about a category, what I call interiority.

Um, be- and I call it that because Africana studies, well, not so much Africana, but Black studies has been...

The conversations about religion have been very tenuous in Black studies.
