Time Out New York

I recommend everybody can can go read them.

They're actually compiled in an excellent book that I reviewed for Time Out New York, which I don't know if you remember that, but it was called The Ecstasy of Influence.

I would never

have remembered your byline from until the next, you know, from when I next heard of you.

but I was building a different kind of credibility with an eye toward being a grown-up actor.

Of course, after six years on a show about a child talent agency run by teenagers, once called an insufferable cacophony of earnest cringe by Time Out New York, a refined Instagram refresh didn't do much to distance me from the character I'd played for so long.

But I don't mind being conflated with the girl from that show.

I am earnest.

It too has been mapped, delineated, bought, sold, branded.

Time out New York.

Time out Dublin.

Time out Berlin.

I was very young, starting my journalistic career.

I was working at Time Out New York.

Oh, Time Out! I mean, when Time Out was still the shiznit.

Yeah, I mean, look, I don't want to sidetrack this, but it was beating everybody back then.

Today, I have the privilege of sharing my conversation with Harrison Greenbaum, comedian, magician, and just a mensch.

Harrison has been described as the hardest working man in comedy by both Time Out New York and New York Daily News, and it is, in fact, true.

This man is a certified hustler doing 800, 900 shows a year.

He is a lover of the craft, of the art, and I respect him so much for his incredible work ethic.

If you have, that's amazing, but many of us were told to go make something and figure it out on our own, and if that's you, you're certainly not alone, and this episode is a permission slip to allow yourself to learn something new if it helps you bring your vision to life.

My guest today is Alonza Guevara, who's been on the show before and her work has been exhibited internationally and featured in places like Forbes, Time Out New York, and Vice.

I also had the privilege of working with Alonza earlier this year and learning more about organizing my palette, color temperature, and so much more.

On this episode, we talk a lot about her evolution from conceptual work to more realism in her paintings.
