Time Is on My Side

Yeah.

Also, you can't watch that movie without having the Time Is On My Side song stuck in your head-

Yeah

... for the rest of the day.

Stop 'em now, stop them, stop those needles and pins, yeah.

[instrumental music] Time is on my side, yeah, yeah.

Time is on my side, yeah, yeah.

Ooh.

[trumpet music] You'll come running back.

You'll come running back.

You'll come running back to me.

Time is on my side, yeah, yeah.

I love that movie.

And all you can think about is the song, Time is on My Side by the Rolling Stones.

Yeah.

According to Robert Zemeckis, not a single scene was left on the cutting room floor.

It had songs like Darling Lorraine and also You're the One.

Singles that were released on October 3rd include Kai Winding and his orchestra, who in 1963 released the original rhythm and blues version of the song Time is on My Side.

This song was written by Jerry Ragavoy, and it had gospel-style backup vocals by Sissy Houston, Dionne Warwick, and Dee Dee Warwick.

The original song received some radio coverage.

It did not hit the mainstream music charts, at least until it got covered by, most famously, the Rolling Stones.

Everybody thinks that Time is on My Side is actually their song.

It's not.

That's a cover version.

Then he asks Hobbes, why is there a space between Lyons and Spakowski? Hobbes has absolutely no idea what he's talking about and basically assumes Reese is just crazy.

As Reese is being prepared for execution, he continues mocking the witnesses and even starts singing, time is on my side by the Rolling Stones.

And yeah, that song is going to become very important in this movie.

And

Right.

So, yeah.

So Hobbes also starts noticing people around him randomly singing Time is on My Side.

And that's when he realizes Azazel is basically taunting him, moving from host to host while letting Hobbes know that he is still around.

All right, so the synopsis is Philadelphia homicide detective John Hobbs, played by Denzel Washington, watches serial killer Edgar Reese die in the gas chamber.

Before the execution, Reese grabs his hand, recites something in an unknown language, and sings the Rolling Stones' Time is on My Side.

Time

is on my side.
