Timbers Army

It's hilarious.

My partner was standing with me in the Timbers Army.

She doesn't come to a ton of games, but I was just telling her, I was like, every single time Chris Revelda is on the ball and loses the ball or gets tackled or whatever, just watch him for two to three seconds every time afterwards.

Don't follow the ball.

And we've seen this for a while.

And we, you know, we obviously have highlighted 3252, Timbers Army, the Seattle Sounders from 09 to whatever.

You know, any group that stood above La Barra Brava, right? To your point about DC United going back to the very beginning in RFK Stadium when they have lost something.

That's still a good supporters group, but obviously they're not the same.

Wherever it may be.

But even then.

And B, some of the people who say that to me do not know about the Timbers Army or LAFC or Atlanta, and they certainly are too new to the sport to have seen what it was in Washington or Chicago to pick another famous one from the early years of MLS back at that time.

And they see that and they say, oh, wow.

potentially final game at Providence Park for the 2026 season.

So the Timbers Army's got to come out, give this team a lot of support, and bring it and see what can happen after that.

Yeah, I think with the retirement announcement of Diego Char, when his name is read out loud, whether as a sub or a starter, it will get the biggest applause of the night from the fan base that loves him so dearly.

And I'm sure Timbers Army are already getting their work cut out for them on what it's going to be like for the TIFO.

Yeah, I can imagine that no matter where he picks up the ball in his final few games at Providence Park, you will hear a lot of shoot from the Timbers Army.

For those that didn't catch the press conference at noon today, Adam, I know you heard this.

The soccer club in Portland, the Portland Timbers, have as their biggest fans the Timber Army.

And Antifa has latched upon this soccer club, and you will often see, at least you used to see, the imagery and the iconography of Antifa on their flags that they were allowed to unfurl in the stadium.

well what you did see on TV Matt from back here in Blighty is the game was getting pretty testy wasn't it and the first thing that happens to set that off is Omar Fernandez drives into the box and he shrugged off the ball by Navarro you know Amari's not a big guy And Navarro kind of extends the arm a little bit to push him away into the advertising boards and he hits them head first and the ref doesn't give anything.

And with Fernandez getting a head injury, the Timbers Army are pretty mad about this.

And then VAR tells the ref to go look at it.

And we're thinking, well, if it's gone to VAR, it's going to be a pen, right? Because it always, always, that means the decision is going to be turned over about 90% of the time.
