Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

Rhino Man takes us into the lives of game rangers on the front lines of South Africa's rhino poaching crisis, revealing their courage, their sacrifice, and the deep commitment to protecting wildlife.

And at the heart of the film is Anton Mzimba, who dedicated 25 years of his life to protecting wildlife at the Timbavati Nature Reserve, becoming one of Africa's most respected conservation leaders.

In July of 2022, as Rhino Man was nearing completion, Anton was assassinated at his home after receiving death threats connected to his stand against rhino poaching.

Today, John is helping carry Anton's legacy forward through the Justice for Anton Mzimba campaign.

In Kruger, I don't offer scheduled trips, but I offer private trips.

So I've got some clients flying in next year, and we've got a private camp that we booked out in Timbavati.

which is sort of halfway up Kruger on the western side.

And it's an amazing part, really, really epic lion sightings.

So it's probably about a third of the way up the park.

it was useful for a time and I find it useful in my general shooting particularly where things are getting a bit difficult in terms of the subject detection but yeah I can totally get it that you would not want it on all the time absolutely

In July, I was in Timbavati in South Africa, leading a trip for Penda Photo Tours, as I do, and I saw and photographed, we need to get that drum roll in.
