I've agreed via Tim Wheeler that we will do an Ash special soon on their 30th anniversary on 1977 to get us out of that legal bother.

Yeah, look, I mean, I know I'm no longer allowed to enter the Republic of Ireland, but I'm hopeful that if we do that pod, that'll really fix that up.

Just to give the context of two interviews, Tim Wheeler from Man of Ash, I interviewed a few years ago when Ash were bringing out the... brilliant album race tonight so you know we got into that as well as um both are sort of um gig going in the summer of 2023 it was around this time a few years ago so we were discussing what we did over the summer turned out we put in very similar gigging summers because um that was that summer i went to see blur in wembley and then i went from there to see pulp in cardiff and tim had done something similar he was at those um Blur, Wembley gigs and also saw Pulp as well so we get into all that race tonight the Blur and Pulp gigs and then of course 1977 what a brilliant album it was the creation of it and you know just the enduring impact it's had as a real Irish classic and then Neil when we were talking to Neil it was a year ago they were putting out the Divine Comedy the album Rainy Sunday Afternoon So we had a great discussion about that.
P

You can read that feature on Hot Press specifically about the album.

We also at the time talked about Kate Bush and Hounds of Love, which we used some of that in the pod we did about Hounds of Love on Hot Press Classics about a year ago.

S
1:18speaker_3HOST
That's like a detective story.
S
1:21speaker_3HOST
But I wonder, were there any lyrics at all when they found it?

They were last here in 2024 after making their long awaited return to NZ in 2023, following more than 20 years away.
B

So since then, they've become pretty regular visitors to our shores, which we are absolutely not complaining about.
