This is a co-write with former Simply Red member Tim Kellett, which feels like two of the country's biggest easy listening bands are kind of metastasising here and becoming one big easy listening band.

I feel like, yes, we're now all in the pocket of Big Easy Listen, aren't we? I feel like this is one of those mergers between two massive American bands, is it? We're at the point where every ATM in Britain will be owned by Simply Red slash the Lighthouse family.

and violinist uh tim kellett played trumpet with him i think he might have gone on to be in simply red which is a weird connection as well a couple of people i think who played with vinnie riley in the druidic column ended up in simply red totally different you know a sort of a soul funky you know sort of uh you know very popular with middle-aged ladies type of band you know etc uh you know and yet two members used to be in the druidic column an avant-garde sort of experimental improvisational yeah um yeah stephen street uh who's uh obviously significant producer but most famous of course for working with the smiths has produced a couple of those albums and will have brought his own um way of doing things never had a hit single of course because why would he closest i think he came was a song from circuses and bread called tomorrow which would have been 85, I don't know, you know, back then.

And that was one that might have scraped the lower regions of the indie chart, as we used to call it.

But, yeah, made an entirely orchestral album in 1984 called Without Mercy that was based very much on the Keats poem, La Belle Dame, Son Merci.
