Did you have a mentor that was kinda guiding you throughout your career or just kinda when you first started, or was there somebody you looked up to?

One, uh, negotiator in particular, he was the best negotiator Sac PD ever had.

Larry Chavez was amazing.

He was a senior sergeant with the department, and he had this, just this wry sense of humor and just a, a great air about him.

And he was a technician.

He could talk anybody out of anything.

He was great.

So what, if you could give us some advice to maybe current negotiators or potential future negotiators, what's, what's some advice you might wanna give them that you kind of picked up throughout your career and your experiences?
