I'm particularly concerned about the cuts to regional footprint and regional programming.

I think the BBC has done superb work in recent years under Tim Davie extending its regional footprint, and I think that is incredibly important for the whole nation.

It's not just that Britain is great at telling stories.

The strength of those stories is that they are locally rooted with very unique perspectives but have universal appeal, and the BBC is one of the best bastions of a united nation that we've got.

Now, James Purnell famously was cabinet minister long ago, at the same time as Andy Burnham, then went to the BBC and was a very senior executive there.

Was in the running to be director general, I think, the, the time that Tim Davie got the job.

Mm.

Uh, and then, and then left the BBC and has been doing various other things.

And, you know, great wit, which to win over a room, actually.
